Though not exactly Steampunk Roger Zelazny's,
A Night in the Lonesome October
is excellent inspiration for the Mythos oriented side of these stories. Zelazny touches on numerous archetypes and fictional characters from the period that this game is based on and mixes them nicely with a very Lovecraftian theme.
If you haven't read it then I suggest you do so asap. It is amongst my favorite stories.
