-Howdy all. In a screen shot for Stargate-Worlds i saw a mess of wires that a player had to cut/modify to unlock a security door. It seemed simple enough but also engaging and detailed in a good way. Much of that game i don't think i would enjoy from the info coming out recently, but that idea i thought seemed interesting.

So, to the community, what sort of mini-games would you think would fit and be good to see in a steampunk MMO? Remember programming and other limitations in your suggestions.

Another game-not-to-be-named had a Tetris-style game when crafting potions. The Tetris 'blocks' were molecules that you had to arrange in a certain way to determine the potency of the concoction. Any other ideas out there?

I'm personally opposed to the idea of needing a mini-game to craft or perform other tasks that you're likely going to be doing a lot. What was a fun gimmick quickly becomes an annoyance and possibly even a deal-breaker if it happens frequently enough. If there were any mini-games, I'd want them to be independent of crafting, possibly in the context of a casino or gaming arcade in-world, or a book of puzzles in a library you could solve to get a reward from a researchers' organization or something.
