The Medic is our game's Healer and Buffer class

Anyone who thought tending the wounded was easy never had the Medic's job. Unlike some games, our Medic is a sturdy second-line combatant that needs to be close to her target to apply first aid. This means she's going to be a little stronger than most people might presume upon first encountering her. Capable of numbing away injuries with various medications, the Medic is able to grant resistance to damage, additional hit points, or succor when you've been damaged. But with a pistol in hand and a variety of melee weapons a Medic can help to keep you from getting damaged a second time. Solo the class is a bit slower than others, but in a team a Medic can be of vital import. Especially against the game's tougher foes.

A melee range range healer ( yay, can I say healer and not get eviscerated ?!) could be quite the challenge to play, I may give this a shot.Speaking of shots... I'm guessing that they will also be able shoot adrenaline darts, or give injections and such for additional buffs ?

More or less.

The primary buffs that Medics will be able to use are going to be encouragements, which effect multiple allies and modify their damage output, accuracy, or free them from Mez effects, and Pain Killers, which will be used to grant temporary hit points and damage resistance.
